Turkey 90/180 day calculator

Visa-free visitors can spend at most 90 days in Türkiye in any 180-day period — and no longer per visit than their passport allows: 30, 60 or 90 days. Pick your per-visit limit and add your trips; the calculator checks both rules.

Limit per visit

Depends on your passport. According to Türkiye's foreign ministry: US, UK, Canada, Kazakhstan — 90 days in any 180; Russia — 60 per visit; Belarus — 30 (and 90 days a year). Check your country: www.mfa.gov.tr/visa-information-for-foreigners.en.mfa

How the 90/180 rule works in Türkiye

Türkiye's Law on Foreigners (No. 6458, Article 11) caps a stay on a visa or visa exemption at 90 days in every 180. The window rolls: on any date, count every day you spent in Türkiye during the 180 days ending on that date. The calculator counts entry and exit days in full, so it never undercounts. Leaving doesn't reset anything — old days only drop out once they are more than 180 days back.

The per-visit limit: 30, 60 or 90 days

On top of 90/180, each nationality has a maximum for a single visit. Many passports — US, UK, Canada, most of the EU — get 90 days, so for them the two limits coincide. Russians get 60, so their 90 days take at least two visits. On an e-Visa, the length of stay is set on the visa itself: www.evisa.gov.tr

What happens if you overstay

You pay a fine when you leave, and you can be banned from re-entering — under Law No. 6458 usually for up to five years. The longer the overstay, the stricter the outcome; leaving on your own and paying before the overstay is detected softens it. An unpaid fine can get you turned away next time. Staying longer than 90 days

Only with a residence permit (ikamet). Apply while your legal stay is still running: once your 90 days in 180 are used, the visa exemption can't be extended.

Frequently asked

How are the 90 days counted in Turkey?

Pick any date and look back 180 days, including that date: the days you spent in Türkiye in that window must not exceed 90. The window moves forward every day, so old trips drop out gradually rather than all at once.

What happens if I overstay in Turkey?

You pay a fine when you leave, and you can be banned from re-entering — under Law No. 6458 usually for up to five years, depending on how long you overstayed. An unpaid fine is a reason to be refused entry next time.

Does leaving Turkey reset the 90 days?

No. Leaving ends the visit, but every day from the last 180 still counts. A new entry gives you a new per-visit allowance, not a fresh 90 days.

How long can US and UK citizens stay in Turkey?

Up to 90 days in any 180-day period, according to Türkiye's foreign ministry. A single visit can last the full 90 days if you haven't been in Türkiye during the previous 180.

Can I stay in Turkey after 90 days?

Only with a residence permit (ikamet), applied for while your legal stay is still running. If the calculator shows you over the limit, leaving as soon as possible is the safest option.

This calculator helps you plan, but it isn't legal advice. Conditions depend on your passport and can change — check yours with Türkiye's foreign ministry before you travel.
